How did Vancouver Pub Finder start?

It all started from a few years of fruitless searches for an Irish pub that sells green beer on St Patrick's Day in Vancouver, Canada. Trying to find an Irish pub, other than the big three - Doolins, Irish Heather and Blarney Stone, is a difficult task. Don't get me wrong; they are great pubs, but I would like to have other choices as to where I enjoy my pint. Other websites had a lot of outdated information, as well as multiple listings for some pubs and no listings for others. Nowhere could we find a complete list of all the drinking places the city has to offer. Vancouverites deserve better.

Thus, Vancouver Pub Finder was born. This website aims to be the most comprehensive pub website for the Metro Vancouver area, including Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Maple Ridge, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Langley, Ladner, New Westminster, Surrey, West Vancouver, White Rock, Fort Langley, North Vancouver, Port Moody and Tsawwassen.. It includes the newest pubs and nightclubs, and the ones that are closed down are either removed from the site, or be shown as Closed . We offer an updated list of pubs, searchable by genre, area, bar name or street name. This way, drinkers can easily find different types of bars (yes, even Irish pubs!) wherever they are in the city. And, to make sure you don't have to drink and drive, we also provide you with the name of the closest skytrain/West Coast Express station to the pub that you are looking for, if applicable.
